Hi to all. Throughout this interaction with you I have continued to state that Robert Clucas was a Captain, after all, that was what I was told from a supposedly reliable source. In recent time I have discovered that he was a steward on ships and not a Captain at all. He died in 1850 off the coast of Kent on the Goodwin sands when the sailing ship 'Gazelle' went aground. Just maybe this will help others in their quests for knowledge. I learnt from all of this that you should never take everyone's word as gospel.
