yes - am putting a page together as involves more than your Nicholas + makes an interesting tale - partly driven by finding a coroner's sale in the deeds of property once owned by Nicholas - thus started looking thro the extensive listing when Boscow is entered in newspaper index at iMuseum to find why the coroner was involved (Manx coroners are roughly equivalent to English + I guess American bailiffs)- many newspaper clippings are just adverts but there in the mid 1840s were reports of the court cases and all started to become clear tho I'm still working thro them + a few more borrowings I found but have requested these deeds for tomorrow - there in one of the case was a brief summary that he and son Arthur signed unauthorised cheques - basically the other shareholders who were also legally liable for debts repudiated them partly claiming statute of limitations + also that the procedures were unauthorised (eg Arthur had no role in company)
Judging from various reports he left Island about end Feb 1842 (his house contents sold by auction 24 Feb 1842 after I think he'd left Island + the stock in trade + leases on Castletown shop followed 18 March) it would appear he left property in hands of a trustee to dispose of.
