I can't honestly say. My now deceased grandfather-in-law only documented that his ggrandfather was Alexander Patty and that he was born in 1816 at Kirk Patrick, Isle of Man, he worked in a lead mine and died about 1858 there. His wife was Elizabeth and all of their children were born there. But apparently, the name Patty isn't common there. I do have other documentation regarding another branch that I have yet to connect that came from England. Oxfordshire or Warwickshire. I haven't confirmed any of this. The problem is the spelling of the name: Paty, Pattie, Petty, Patye, Patey, Pettey or even Pete. I've check on Scotlandspeople and couldn't find anything.
