Hi - you may already have all the information you need as I have just come across this thread. Alexander Patty m. Elizabeth (Betsy) McCarrey (date uncertain as yet!) He died in 1858 and in 1867 his wife joined her parents and her brother William and sister Jane in America. They had emigrated from IOMan to the USA in the 1840s and 50's as times were hard. Six of her seven children also emigrated to Illinois in about the 1850s and 60s. Her remaining daughter Eliza stayed behind in the Island as she had married Thomas Crellin in 1867. Hope this makes sense - they are a large family!
