HOGG, Joney 1757-2 Lon KEWLEY A 27 010622

This is affirmed to be the last Will and Testament of Joney
Hogg, als Kewley, of the parrish of KK Lonan who Departed
this life on or about the 16th day of April 1757 she being
of sound mind & memory at the making hereof.

First she committed her Soul to Almighty God & her
body after death to a decent and Christian burial.

She left to her son Philip Hogg all her part of [land] &
that in manner following. She left to her s'd son Philip
a parcel of Land being Intack, and known by the name
of Cloch Gear, also she left him her part of the lands [where]
they live and known by the name of John Hoggs Croft with
all [libertys] and properties unto the same in any [way]
belonging and all this in nature of Inheritance to be
possessed and enjoyed by him at the End and Expiration of
five years after the date hereof, to which her said
Husband John Hogg consented and agreed to reserving only
to himself his own part of the afores'd Lands. That is to say
his part of the Lands whereon he now Dwells to be at his own
[Dispensing], his part of Clough gear to remain in his own
hands during his natural life and after the Decease of
same to descend to Philip Hogg their son
as Inheritance. She ordained and appointed that her s'd son at
time of his possessing of the s'd lands he is to pay unto his brother
William and his sisters Mary & Margaret Hogg three pounds each to
them when possessing the s'd Lands her husband consenting to pay fourty shillings thereof she
left her Daughter Mary a silk Hankerchief and the worsted yarn
that was in the House, and her wearing apparel to her two
Daughters. She left to her husband her part of the feather bed

Lastly she nominated & appointed her sons Philip
and William, her Daughters Mary & Margaret sole [Executors]
of all the rest of her goods moveable & Immoveable
of what kind or nature soever.

At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas June 7 1757
John Hogg husband of the Testatrix has consented that his part
of the Lands shall descend as more fully expressed in the
within Will, as also to pay the fourty shill's therein mentioned
and the Ex'rs are sworn in Court in form of Law and hath
given pledges for paym't of Debts & Legacies namely
John Kewley [Balladoin] & Wm. Lawson both of KK Lonan

I Mary Kewley als Hogg the widow of Edwd. Kewley
late of the parish of KK Lonan dec'd Daughter of the within named Testatrix
Joney Hogg do hereby acknowledge to have rec'dat & from the hands of my
Brother Philip Hogg the full & just sum of thirty shillings being my own share
or proportion exclusive of my Childrens share or proportion of the three pounds
Which my s'd dec'd mother appointed him to pay unto me by her annex'd last
Will & Testament, & I the s'd Mary Kewley als Hogg do hereby release & acquit
& discharge my s'd brother Philip Hogg his Ex'rs Admins & assigns of the s'd thirty
Shillings forever as witness my mark ___ the day month & year above written
