Manx Genealogy

Ancestors, Thomas Lord h/o Isabella Quine

The following is from a Civil War pension file of one of Thomas and Isabella Lord's descendants, Caius C. Lord. It was contributed to a website about the Civil War, by a descendant, Greg Wickenberg.

Like Mr. Wickenberg, I have been unable to locate either of the first two generations in the Isle of Man, (burial indices, or wills) but maybe someone else will have better luck.

"These first 2 generations are not documented. They were mentioned in the Civil War Pension File of my Caius C Lord. In a deposition taken while trying to receive a higher Pension, Caius is asked if there is any proof of his birthday. He says none that he knows of, but that the date was written in his family
Bible. He goes on to list the rest of the names in the Bible.

#1. Robert Lord Jan 4, 1699 - Nov 18, 1785
#2. Thomas Lord Jan 9, 1739 - Jun 14, 1831
#3. Thomas Lord Jul 4, 1778 - Aug 7, 1861 married Isabella Lord Jan 3, 1779 - Feb 23, 1855
#4. Hugh Lord Jan 8, 1809 - Oct 21, 1880 married Ann "Kelly" Lord Apr 11, 1816 - Jul 18, 1852
#5. Caius Lord Nov 23, 1842"

Unfortunately I have not been able to locate death information in Ohio which gives the parents of either Thomas Lord or Isabella Lord.
