Hi Donna, I live in northern California with my husband on a small farm where we produce apples, cherries and chestnuts. I did extensive research on my father years ago using RootsWeb, LDS records, and Ancestry.com. At that time all this was free. I have downloaded a program called "Family Tree Maker" 2005, a disc set my daughter gave me years ago, but have not been successful with it. Also, I downloaded 2 programs from the internet: MyHeritage and AncestryView. Can you suggest a program or format. I am just getting started with my mother's ancestors. My mother, Laverne Cain Edwards, passed away, and i have no one who can provide any info other than what i learned as a child, and when i visited her relatives in IOM. I have only been able to go back to her grandparents, and the IOM records do not list their parents. So i have stalled at this point. If there is a way to research further, I would really love to do this. Can you send me the data source that you mentioned? And, could you recommend a program?
