My guess is that no cause of death is given in these old records, unless there's some sort of a story that made headlines, and that would take tons more research. I am a bit curious when cause of death began being added to public information on the IOM, if ever. I've no clue when that sort of info was provided in death notices here in North America. No doubt, the words were chosen by family. My mother chose not to publish a notice of my Dad's death. She felt it might make her a target for bad guys. Probably good thinking.
