Re: Mary Ann KELLY nee KNEALE
In Response To: Re: Mary Ann KELLY nee KNEALE ()

Hello Len,
Thank you for your reply.
Here is what I have so far for my Gt. Aunty Mary Anne KNEALE, from 1878 to 1964:
It has been a difficult family to trace as there seems to have been quite a few families
with same or similar names, both male & female.

Regards,
Carol

Via the 1911 Census, IF she is the correct Mary Ann(e) KNEALE?? but it looks like it was her:
Mary Ann KNEALE was in the Home for the Poor at Union Mills.

It seems that Mary Anne KNEALE b.1879 in Patrick, occ: Farm Servant was a resident in the
Poor House at Union Mills, IOM when she was aged 32 years, with her is a child called
Frances Harriet KNEALE aged less than 1mth, whereas Mary`s other child Irine was
staying with Mary`s married sister Eleanor and Brother - in - Law Richard HAMILTON in 1911 at the Braaid.
I have the birth cert for the child Frances Harriet KNEALE, above, details below:

Born 25th March 1911 at the Home for the Poor, Braddan.
Frances Harriet KNEALE, Mother: Mary Ann KNEALE.
Informant: R. CRAINE, Home for the Poor, Braddan.

Mary Ann was a Widow when she married William LEECE, so I checked to find out who had been her previous husband
and the only obvious one was a Joseph KELLY, Foxdale BUT, I now realise that Mary Ann(e) would NOT have been old
enough to marry.
So, I guess I am stuck :0) Ken, You are right to question me regarding this possible " marriage" it could not be correct, any
help would be really welcomed.
