Manx Genealogy

Re: Isleofman.com site now owned by Manx Telecom

To the new owners of the IsleofMan.com website:

May I humbly add my comment as a relative newcomer to Genealogy with most of my relatives being of Manx Ancestry, and with me emigrating from Liverpool to Canada as a young child: the genealogists on this IsleofMan.com website have been so kind and incredibly helpful. They have never made me feel that my meagre knowledge was inadequate or beneath them. The Isle of Man genealogists have been so informative, encouraging, helpful, and providing great guidance as to how to use the ManxNoteBook on this website. They have also provided a history of the island, its inhabitants and Manx culture to me. It is a very unique site on the internet, and it is free to all users. This Isle of Man genealogy website has provided so much more than just genealogical assistance to a relative newcomer like myself: it has provided a unique learning experience for me about so many things about the Isle of Man that I have not been able to find on any other website on the internet, and I have looked for those type of websites at great length and found none.

I would just like to say to the new owners of this IsleofMan.com website, that this is a wonderful, unique site for genealogical and historical aspects of the Manx culture. Please continue to give this incredible website with its extensive genealogy section, your continued support.

Since joining the IsleofMan.com website last year, I have learned so much about the history, the Manx culture, the family names, the customs, the geography of the Isle of Man and, of course, genealogy of the Isle of Man. What other website can provide all that with such devoted and helpful genealogists?

Humbly submitted,
Penny Jones
