Sylvia, what a lot of good info. In the iomfhs article the mother of Robert Stephen is given as Margaret Cowley not Jane so Margaret must have been her middle name & the one she used - maybe. I see your ancestor Mrs. Cavendish is mentioned. Also the Robert aged 10 in 1871 (in darker print) was the brother of my gr grandfather William Thomas who is listed as aged 18. I only wrote to Jim Moore in Australia last week, gave my email if he has internet, so hopefully he will reply in March. So many William, Elizabeth, Margaret & Robert Moores at that time so it can take some working out so your help was appreciated. Have you read the article in the Feb journal ? It says Robert & Margaret had 2 chn a boy & a girl but I have only found Robert William born 1900. Which Moore branch did your Elizabeth Cavendish & her brother Robert Stephen come from ?
