Frances is right about getting info first from US records. Did he marry a Manx woman? Names of his children--sometimes helps. Usually Manx didn't travel alone--look for others in censuses.
Check out censuses as she said, naturalization papers can often be helpful.
Do you know where he died? Cemetery records, newspaper obits give info.
In latter 1800s there are often county histories that contain info about the area's settlers.

Also be flexible about his age as often there is quite a range in paperwork as well as variations in spelling.

I looked quickly at ancestry.com and there are several Thomas Corrins b abt 1843 IOM--one married Catherine Hannah Cowin--there are also several John Corrins
