Harry thank you. That information places me exactly when I suspected I should be looking. In our line, Edwin Kinrade, son of Isabella Kinrade (nee Tate), was a policeman in Liverpool, and there was also a daughter who married a Cowle/Cowley. I wrote to every Tate on the Island a few years ago and only received one reply from a person whose origins were in Yorkshire. I guess not everyone has the same enthusiasm for family history as we do.
