I'll put in my two penny'worth ... My William Cashin, born in 1837 in Nairbyl Bay, near Peel, had to learn English in order to take part in the Navigation course at Whitehaven in about 1850. He worked hard later in life to keep the Manx language alive, especially when Custodiam of Peel Castle. Jo
