Re: MI please. Tracing a Blore ancestor

in 1881 Wm Blore tobacconist, age 62 born liverpool was an inmate of House of industry - doesn't sound as tho much money there

his address was 2 Parade - sandwiched in 1861 census between 59 North Quay + 62/63 North Quay (beware these numbers as renumbered in late 1870's)
59 North Quay was Hills Royal Hotel - later to become the offices of the IoMSPCo - 62 + 63 were a couple of merged pubs at seaward end of Northquay - Blore's corner was I think on the corner of Parade + North quay near where the new swingbridge was built in 1890's (today all changed with building of link across circus beach to the new King Edward pier built on base of old Red Pier) -I think it can be seen on the view of Hill's Royal hotel at www.manxnotebook.com/views/various/index.htm
