Re: Edward Macaulay
In Response To: Re: Edward Macaulay ()

Pat, I'm confused about the information you already have on Edward Macauley. What is the document which tells you that his father's name was Patrick, and that Edward claimed to be 32 at his marriage in 1848 ? Please can you give us every scrap of information you have, no matter how insignificant it may seem to be. Do you possess any family documents eg handwritten notes in a family bible or information passed down by word of mouth ?

If this is Edward's burial below, it seems likely that his birth year was 1809:

MACAULAY, Edward 68 Braddan 14 Sep 1877

I wonder whether his children's names might give a clue to the names of his parents and siblings:

Have you seen the Chas Macauley, teacher, 30, b Lancashire, in Mount Pleasant, Liverpool, in 1841 ? He's with a 25 yr old Edith Macauley, "not b Lancs", plus a servant.

This Charles is a possible brother of Edward----only tenuous, but Edward did name one of his sons as Charles.

Do you have a father's name and occupation for Mary ? And what about an occupation for Patrick ?
