Re: COWLEY family - Kirk Michael

Hi Frances and Donna,

Thrilled isn't the word, it's wow, wow, wow! Big smile on my face!

At first I wondered what on earth had I missed in my research, we were all working from the same census, so it seemed; and I'd also come across the Cowley/Kaighin marriage but as it was not extracted I didn't want to take it as gospel. I'd already had listed the two children, ie Jane and John. When I was looking for a will, however, I think my mistake was not looking, or maybe not accepting, that he (John) may have died quite early.

In the meantime, however, I have put out a feeler to see if we can have a look at the John Cowley will of 1828. Not being experienced in the "will" side of things is there a possibility that the will of John Cowley 1839 was a later "edition" and he was making sure his children would be looked after.

I think there are a couple of candidates for John Kneale, from the Lezayre and Andreas area, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it! I've got the CD to look at!

.....and yes Donna, you probably know the answer as well as I do, and that is that Margaret Cowley is probably related to "our" John. Thanks girls!
