Re: charles theodore forbes

Hi

In their heyday the Forbes (Edward Snr et al) lived in Thornton, a beautiful Regency style villa in grounds built in the early 1830's. Unfortunately there was a massive crisis the Forbes Bank crashed and pulled a lot of innocent investors down with it (including Sir William Hillary, founder RNLI). Obviously all the assets went into the liquidation unless there was anything in trust from the 1st wife or grandparents estates.

After this, I don't really know what happened to Forbes Pere, I guess he would make himself scarce??

Fairly predictable if he turned up in London, where was the child brought up??

All very interesting.
