Re: Alex. Kaneen/Eliz Looney New York and Ohio

Just found this census, in New York. I was wondering why they didn't show up in Cleveland, 1870..

1870 Alden census # 380: Elizabeth Kaneen 42 keeps house IOM; Mary 21 boarding house NY; William 15 Canada; Ella 13 NY; George 11 NY; Robert 9 NY; Eliza 6 NY; William Blew 26 laborer IOM; and several others who were laborers...William Sayles 21

Raises some questions:

Where in Canada did they go?

Did the children whose gravestones are in Harvard Grove actually die in New York?

Where did Alex. die? Cleveland or New York? If the story is that his body was thrown into Lake Erie, Alden is not very close to Lake Erie...but I suppose he could have been in Buffalo for some reason.
