She was the daughter of David Bowes and first wife (1884) of my ancestor Philip Teare Shimmin (b.1853). She died in childbirth; her daughter was Jane Bowes Shimmin (1889-1963). Philip Teare Shimmin later married (1894) Hermione Coppell Coward (1870-1935) daughter of Robert Coppell Coward, and had my ancestress Phyllis Mona Shimmin (1895-1951) who as Ladies Captain founded the Phyllis Lynch Trophy at Royal Blackheath Golf Club, London.
