Adam Caine

Dear Ms. Coakley,

I have had to engage another researcher. Mrs. Carine has e-mailed and cannot at present help due to family illness, so I have now written to a Mrs. LEWTHWAITE. whom I spoke by phone yesterday, which she is sending her data on how she proceeds with research and her fees, but she cannot begin for 5 weeks, other obligations.

I have went back and studied so much data, that in your findings of ADAM CAINE TO ELINOR STOEN(STEPHAN) marriage, I have found this marriage on the MORMON data, but Parish records are now where you have the originals and not copies, you stated that PATRICK inherited the BALLCAIN off the ELINOR STEPHAN marriage, and PATRICK did NOT come to AMERICA, you also stated you could find NO marriage of ANNE CORLETT TO ADAM CAINE, I was pursuing dates, and upon the dates your data and my data there is a big gap. Our ADAM CAINE TWINS, were born in 1712, BALLAUGH PARISH, it does not state who the mother is, were you able to find a will of ELINOR STEPHAN that would state she left PATRICK the farm or was this data under ADAM CAINE's will. I would be hesitate to put all my eggs in one basket at this time, for ADAM CAINE WAS OFF PATRICK CAINE AND PATRICK OFF JOHN AND JOHN OFF WILLIAM all the way back to 1600, in going through the MANX NOTEBOOK. PARISH OF (KIRK MARY) BALLAUGH, OFF YOUR MANX NOTEBOOK , BALLAUGH, it states all the farms, and under this you have the following:

BALLACAIN, TREEN, 1515 , MAN. ROLL BALYCANE,

1643,BALLACAINE

Cain"s farm' Ir. Mac Cathdin. In 1515 we William McCane, involved in a suit against another tenant, but his holding is not set down. In 1643 AFDAM CAINE held part of GLEN DOO, Both of these were probably descendants of the original holder.
As stated the land we owned did not come by marriage of ELINOR STOEN(STEPHAN) OUR LANDS WERE OFF WILLIAM, AND MC, O, CAINS THE MC, O'S AND MC, CATHIAN, were dropped as many names were changed on the Isle to ENGLISH versions.

I know I am right in stating through our records, that our ADAM CAINE is the right one and his son off ANNE CORLETT came to AMERICA, for this data was given to us about WILLIAM AND BALLACAIN, and long ago and that is where our lands came into being, not off of the ELINOR STEPHAN,

Would you please note the MANX NOTEBOOK FOR YOU FINDINGS, AND THERE YOU WILL SEE THAT OUR DATA AND YOUR DATA FALL INTO PERFECT ALIGNMENT.

Still I would like to see the proof of ELINOR lands going to her Patrick, and the ADAM she married, as stated ADAM is not a name that is all over the Isle.

If you could please may I have where you received the data of PATRICK receiving land and dying and not leaving the Isle, the Patrick off ANNE left the Isle.

I have been away and now returned, after holiday, and did more digging, and then found out by e-mail Mrs. Carine cannot research for me, so as stated have asked a Mrs. Lewthwaite. Called her and now waiting on an e-mail to confirm her fees and services.

Thank you again for you all you have done, but please go back into your MANX NOTE and see your transcribed work on this, the farm was in our family from WILLIAM, NOT ELINOR STEPHAN PASSAGE OF LAND TO ADAM. We already had this data a long time ago. If you remember you kept stating we were off the Bishop's Dimense, which we were not.

Kindly yours,

Mrs. Rosa
