Re: Cox
In Response To: Re: Cox ()

Thank you for the replies.

The Douglas rate books sound like there may be some interesting information to be found especially as they may tell when he took over the premises, which would give me an indication of when he arrived on the Isle of Man, which then could give me a clue to finding this man.

William Henry Cox's first marriage was in 1877, but not the one you mention, I did see the one from Leamington Priors Warwick, but William Henry Cox was living with his wife and daughter on the 1891 census in Brighton, so that may not be him.

I am looking for a marriage for him and the Alice that is mentioned on the Isle of Man 1901 census, so if anyone can help in the search I would be grateful. They could of met prior to going to the Isle of Man and married in England, that would of been after March 1891, but not knowing his whereabouts or the maiden name of Alice it is difficult to find a marriage.

I have looked on this website, so if anyone would be so kind and has time to see if I have missed anything that would be great.

Then ............ of course they may not have married!
