Re: Cringle
In Response To: Re: Cringle ()

Hi Frances,

Thanks - seems there is some type of mystery on this part of the family,

Am trying to put the puzzle together - I did see this on the IGI

John Cringle
born 1792 German

Jane Quayle ch 1 Dec 1799 daughter of William Quayle & Mary Kinread married John above 24 Jun 1817 German

Children
John ch 12 Apr 1818 Marown
Jane 12 Dec 1819 Marown
Margaret 16 Jun 1822 Marown
Catherine 19 Sep 1824 Marown
Elizabeth 9 Jul 1826 Marown
Thomas 19 Oct 1828 Marown
Ann 25 Jul 1830 Marown
Eleanor 22 Jul 1832 Marown
William 6 Apr 1834 Marown
Phillip 23 Dec 1838 Marown
James 7 Feb 1841 Marown

From census info James Cringle was married to Ann ? and had a son John J Cringle born in 1867; about he same time they immigrated to the USA.

Another twist in the puzzle - James Cringle had a sister Catherine, who married John Cottier who was friends of James, which seems to fit with above list of names (will need more info)

These were all living in JoDaviess County Illinois - James Cringle & John Cottier were also supposed to have gone to Nevada in the USA for a short time also, am guessing silver mining.

In these notes also they had James Cringle age 76 when he died on 17 Apr 1914 In Illinois
wife Ann died 24 Sep 1891 in Illinois

Also a Mary A Cottier married to a William Edwards

Thanks again Frances for the help!
