I've found out a bit more about the Ramsey family of John Castle LACE (bapt 16 Feb.1821 Ramsey) & Margaret Christian CORKILL (bapt 22 Aug.1823 Ramsey).

In the 1861 census they were at Sales Court, Ramsey, with John Lace 39 joiner b.Ramsey, Margaret 37, and their children Ann A 14, James 11, John 9, Richard 8, Emma 6, Charlotte 4 and Margaret 2, all b.Ramsey.

In 1871 they were at 1 Sayles Place, Ramsey, with John C. Lace 50 joiner b.Ramsey, Margaret 48, and children Amelia 24 (bapt Ann Amelia 8 June 1846), John W 20 joiner, Charlotte 14, Alice 9, Norris 7, and Edward & Jane both 5.

In 1871, as we know, son James was the nephew in Toxteth Park, Liverpool.
Incidentally, I noticed in censuses from 1851 onwards that there were Lace families b.IoM living in Toxteth Park.

John Castle LACE, 54 yrs, Parliament St, Ramsey, buried Maughold Jan 12 1875.
Margaret Christian LACE, 98 yrs., 74 Sedley St, Liverpool, buried Maughold 22 Aug 1922.

John Castle LACE, 3 mths, Ramsey, buried Maughold Sep 23 1875.
