It's amazing the number of different spellings, there's also Clara Hales which I believe is her aswell! It's difficult to find the definitive version because I've been unable to find a record of her birth. The 1891 census says she was born in Douglas, the 1901 census says England so even her place of birth is debatable. Plus her age on those 2 censuses is the same! Very bizarre, but fascinating.
