Re: John Looney & wife ??? LLewellyn

Howdy, Sue ...

I actually tried the LDS data base ... and kept getting the same information that I had found on Ancestry and RootsWeb. I figured I had to be doing something wrong. Apparently I wasn't.

If there are no actual records in Maughold Parish of my John and Robert Looney families, then I have to think that the info at LDS may just be being perpetuated simply because it's there.

I can see I'm going to have to take a new tack on this problem. I just don't know what it is yet. Ahhh, genealogy. It's a very severe taskmaster, don't you think? Especially when the most important criteria one sets for oneself is to "get it right."

I really thank you for the time and effort you took to give me a helping hand. I would still be stumbling around the LDS records if you had left me on my own. You may guess that I'm pretty much a novice at all this, and I am overwhelmed by the generous spirit of other researchers.

Including you, Sue.

Thanks again. Kate, Texas, USA
