My direct ancestors, Robert Looney and wife Elizabeth Stover(?), came to America about 1733-1734 with their 7 children, from, we believe, St. Maughold's Parish on the Isle of Man.
Is there a resource available to me in America where I could locate John Looney & his wife (who were the parents of Robert Looney)?
I have seen pictures of the beautiful, beguiling Isle of Man. I can't imagine why Robert and his family left there.
