(246) The Peel Players - 1912-?

Description

The Peel Players, a group of Peel actors interested in the interpretation of plays set in the Island by Manx playwrights, met for the first time in Christian Street School, Peel in 1912 and started acting in 1913, when they performed 'Illiam Khodere's Will' and 'The Charm', by Christopher Shimmin, at the David Lewis Theatre in Liverpool. They continued to act the plays of Christopher Shimmin, the Member of the House of Keys for Peel, who was also their producer, and also other Manx-based dramas.
