The inaugral meeting on 25th Mar 1905 was noted in the Manx Sun of 1st Aprl 1905

A MANX MOTOR CLUB.

On Saturday last a number of Manx motorists assembled in the office of Mr G. Drinkwater. Crown Receiver, and decided to form a " Manx Automobile Club.'' Mr Drinkwater was elected president; Mr Geo. J. A. Brown, hon. secretary; Mr G. Gillmour, hon. treasurer; and Messrs D. T. Callow, Dr. Teare, Caparn, Leggo, Jackson, Daly, Sugden, and Dr. Roe were appointed a commitee. There are at present over 20 motorists on the Island, and the newly-formed Club can support their interests in various ways, besides being able to afford information to and to fraternize with motoring visitors.

Mr Drinkwater, President of the Club, has already forwarded a lengthy letter to the members of the House of Keys suggesting sundry alterations to the Highways (Motor Cars and Cycles') Bill now before the House — in fact, it would almost seem as if the Club had sprung into existence for the occasion.
