This society is noted for its annual performances of musical plays and operettas at a high standard of production.
Many gifted local singers entertained semi-professionally during the summer season as the Island emerged as a holiday resort and this reservoir of local talent was the centre around which a musical and dramatic society evolved, which first of all performed all types of modern music from sacred to classical or popular but later concentrated on the form of the musical.
