(99) The Loyal Albert Lodge of Oddfellows, Douglas - 1845

Description

The Loyal Mona Lodge of Douglas, was suspended in 1845 by the Grand Master and Board of Directors. A group of members unhappy with the majority decision decided to set up a new lodge, and the Albert Lodge was opened in the same year. When the Loyal Mona Lodge was reinstated after the resolution of the dispute, the membership of the Albert Lodge dwindled, the population of Douglas being unable to support three clubs. and shortly afterwards closed.
