The first record of this apparently largely unpublicised but successful and efficient Friendly Society is the report of a partly joint anniversary celebration with the Rushen Friendly Society published in the Manx Sun of 28 May 1833. 'The Rushen and Arbory Clubs ...met together yesterday and attended Divine Service at Kirk Christ Rushen, which was performed by the Rev. Messrs. Carran and Carpenter when a very appropriate and impressive sermon was delivered by the latter and which appeared to create a more than usual sensation. The clubs then dispersed to their respective parishes to dine. The reverend clergymen favoured that of Rushen with their company to partake of a most excellent dinner, which passed off with great spirit, and where many loyal toasts graced the festive board.
The Arbory Club was entered as active in the Medical Aid and Poor Relief Commission Report of 1879, with 78 members and accumulated funds of £713.
