Songs of Occupation

Arrane y Vluggan (Wool-Winding Song)’ Sung by Thomas Kneen, Port St. Mary

Grinding Song—Yn Mwyllin, Mwyllin, O! (The Mill, Mill, O !)

. Sung by Joseph Crellin, Colby

1 Variants of ‘Lillibulero’ which was formerly ascribed to Purcell, but which has been traced to an Irish ‘Quickstep ‘ : the air is also known as an old Scotch spinning refrain, which proves no more than the early inter-communication of the Celts.
