[Report ]No 8 [by Governor Wood 27 July 1763]

My Lord

I had the honor of your Graces Letter of the 12th Inst And do here transmitt to your Grace the distinction required as to Tythes & Revenue; in the two last Remittances, which for the future in all subsequent ones shall be Observed.; So soon as I can procure the Estimate for the further repairs of Castle Rushen, it shall be forwarded to your Grace. What your Grace mentions for the relative to some considerable Assistance your Grace may expect in defraying the Expence of these new Repairs in Castle Rushen, I could not think of a more Satisfactory Method to put the whole Affair in a proper Light) than by sending your grace the last years Accts of the Boon Money and of its Disbursements; which was Received & paid out by the Receiver upon the same Plan practised during the time of my Predecessor. From Appearances I was once of the Opinion, that it might produce a greater Sum, and for that Purpose proposed some Methods to Accomplish it, but upon finding some of the Council dubious as to the Nature of these Services, thought Moderate Measures the [most?] Adviseable yet, whatever may be your Graces Opinion I rest satisfyed that your Grace (for many reasons that may occur) will never think of depriving me of any Perquisite, which has hitherto been enjoyed by my Predecessors in Office

And I have the honor &c
