[From Atholl Papers - AP X17-4]

[Report ]No 2 [by Governor Wood 17 March 1763]

My Lord

By my letter No 1 I advised your Grace that Charles Lace had given me the slip, so that the remittance of £1000 intended to have been then sent by him was postponed. He is now returned and by him is sent thirteen hundred pounds Britsh, whereof there is in tythe purchase money £535 12 1.5 Brit

These tythes hang upon the hand. In Michael Parish there was only one sale made, in Lezayre four, in Maughold none, in Lonan one. On the day appointed for Kk Marown only one came who offered thirty five pounds for the Glebe - but as the Comptroller has offered a purchase of the whole Parish together, I thought it eligible to close with him; yet if your Grace has any objection you may return the Deed unsigned. Tho' a day is given to each Parish yet these are the only sales yet made & amount to £64 3 2.5 besides a tythe in Kk Santan finished the day was appointed; Monday Thursday and Wednesday next are appointed for Malew, Arbory & Rushen Parishes.

I am &c
