Archideaconal Wills 1802 Malew #25, of Martha Redfern

In the name of God amen; I Martha
Redfern of Castletown widow do make and
declare this my last will and testament in
manner following. I resign my soul into the
hands of almighty God and my body I commit to
the earth to be buried at the discretion of my
executor and executrix herein after named.
  I give unto my daughter Jane 
Young five pounds British as a legacy.
  I give bequeath & devise unto
my son Thomas Redfern all and
singular that house which I sometime ago
purchased from John Frissell Esqr called Joughin
House with the rights members and appurtenances
to the same belonging and adjoining to the house
of Robert Maddrell and Mark Fayle and situate
in or near unto the said town of Castletown
  I give unto my son George Redfern
ten pounds British as a legacy.
  I give unto my grand-daughter
Martha Redfern five pounds do British as a legacy.
  I give unto my grand-daughter
Isabella Kinley five pounds British as a legacy
and which said several legacys are not to be paid
until the expiration of twelve months after
my decease. And I do herby declare that I
ratify and confirm the deed of sale made by me
and dated the third day of March 1784 unto my son
Joshua Redfern of all and singular the concerns &
premises therein mentioned and my will is that all
and singular the premises in the said deed mentioned
may vest in him according to the true intent
and meaning of the same and I do also will &
direct that my said son Joshua Redfern should have
and possess as his own absolute property all and
every the furniture of what jkind or nature which
shall be in the room [] the parlour of the house
I live in at the time of my decease and I further
will and direct that my daughter Margaret Campbell
shall have and possess as her own absolute property
the looking glass that is now sett upon the back
room and half a dozen chairs of the one sort.
  And lastly I give devise & bequeath
all the rest residue and remainder of my estate
and effects whatsoever and wheresoever to and equally
between my said son Joshua and daughter Margaret
Campbell their executors admrs and assigns and I
do herby nominate and appoint the said Joshua
and Margaret executor and executrix of this my
last will hereby revoking and making void all
former wills by me at any time heretofore made
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my
name the 12th day of April 1798.

testatrix and for her last will & testament
in our presence who at her request and in her
presence and in the presence of each other have
subscribed our names as witnessess
