Mann-based Publications

As the Isle of Man is not part of the United Kingdom it would appear that the UK copyright laws, requiring submission of all published material to the five copyright libraries, does not apply - thus the British Library does not have anything like a full collection of Manx published material. The Manx Museum Library thus has the major holding - with few exceptions if it is in the Bib it is in the Library.

This Bibliography

My web pages do not attempt to compete with Cubbon - I have restricted them to available monographs (by available I mean that copies, though possibly rare, are available on the second hand or antiquarian book market, though the market price for Manx books is high). Those published after 1933/39 are taken from my own collection, listings in various catalogues (those of the British Library are noted) or BNP which lists books in print (the Bxx-nnnn numbers giving the year noted and the index number).
