Hugh Doran being the Master of the vessel Western Maid (1891 England census) was one of twin boys born 1859, being 10 years older than my grandfather Arthur Preston Doran and we believe he sailed to Melbourne Australia in 1896 on board the Western Maid. Some of the family, now departed, also mentioned the schooner Reeper of Peel, but I cannot find any crew lists to substantiate either vessel around the 1896 period. Be that as it may we appreciate your time and effort and be assured we keep on the 'chase'. There is an alternative, to wit, that great grandfather Hugh Doran may not have had his birth recorded in that 1820 / 1821 period.
