Re: frederick Brew
In Response To: Re: frederick Brew ()

Sue, looking at your third paragraph, I am wondering if the words in the Administrations have got out of order. They suggest that Frederick Brew was buried in Ramsey. Apart from a few at Ballure, Ramsey folk were buried at Maughold, or at Lezayre for those in the northern part. More alarming is the suggestion that Lucy was buried in Summerland, which is a pleasant street in Ramsey. Presumably these are the places where the two died.

In the IoMFHS book of Maughold MIs, at grave S53, we find the couple. Frederick is said to be a Baker. What a difference a missing n can make. I wonder who left it out, the stone engraver, or those compiling the book of transcripts.

By my reckoning Fred was the last of 10 children. In addition to the 9 that emerge from your useful posting of 5th March at 7.29 a.m., there is young Henry, buried in grave 86, who died October 9th aged 7 years, who did not live to be recorded in any census.
