Adult ages in the 1841 census, as well as being rounded up or down (usually down), are often several
years out, just as they sometimes are in burials. And occasionally in censuses are given as 10 years or
more younger than they actually were. I've found that children's ages are usually accurate within
a year or two.
However it would be unusual for an age to be given as 9 years older than the person actually
was in 1841 (65) if your age at burial in 1850 (65) was correct. Brian had aged 85 for her burial,
which would have made her 48 at the bapt of her last child. I asked Carol to check the record
to see whether she was given as aged 65 or 85 at burial, and did the Thomas Bannan & Catharine
Christian marriage on 7 May 1799 have any other details.
She is away at a conference, so can't check until Friday.
