the last abbot of rushen was Heny jackson - a full list is I think in Annals of Furness abbey which was the mother house (there is a long delayed issue of Proc IoMNHASoc on Rushen Abbey due out some time this year.

The above account seems extremely 'romantic' and doesn't fit many known facts eg the radcliffes were not in Patrick until mid 17th C. ) The carving is in Arbory church - the supposed link is with the Friary not the abbey (and the Friary certainly had little or no social status)
