Do you possess a copy of your great grandfather William Moore's death certificate ? Can you give details of his age at death ? Was your father born during William's lifetime ? Does he remember the day and month that the family celebrated his grandfather's birthday ? There are so many William Moores that it might be hard to identify him in earlier censuses without a likely birth date.

As Mary says, the marriage certificate of William and Eleanor (probably 14 Feb 1880, Patrick) should have information to enable us to go back to earlier generations. Then we don't have to rely on speculation.
