Hi - my information is similar to Donna's, except that I didn't follow CAINE.

My family was JOUGHIN so I traced Cleater back from Mary Cleater & Charles Joughin.

CLEATER Andreas

Philip CLEATER married 27 May 1665 Andreas [1] Cath KNEAL: will Andreas 1681 “of Catherine Kneal als Cleater who was buried ye first day of June 1681 …to her eldest son John Cleater all her pt of the crofts and houses after his father’s death… husband Philip Cleater… ye rest of her children vizt Ellinr Willm & Philip Cleater… her brother Wm Kneal supervisor of her children ..her two sisters”].

[There is a gap in Andreas parish registers from July 1685 to 1704]

Philip CLEATER married [2] Jony CONNOLLEY: will Andreas 1705/6 “of Jony Cleater alias Connolley who departed this life about ye 9th of Feb 1705/6… to her two daughters Bahy & Catherine Curlet … to Jony Cain … to her grandchild Catherine Cleater… to her son Daniel Cain... to her four grandchildren… husband Philip Cleater execr. Bahy Curlet paid.. due to her by her mother’s death at ye hands of her stepfather Philip Cleater.. and further declares that her sister Catherine now in Ireland has received all her legacie… June 24th 1712”].

Philip died 22 May, buried Andreas 23 May 1716. Will: LDS Film no.991650

This is afirm’d to be ye last will & Testamt of Phill Cleater
who departed this life about ye 22d of May 1716 : being of pfect
mind & memory. First He committed his soul to God & body –
& Christian burial. It. He said yt ye cattle was betwixt him_
selfe & his son Jon. And yt his sd son was to have his choice
of ye two be asts yt were about ye house & his son Willm th’ other
It. He left to his son Willm ye Dun-Horse. It. He bequeathed his
part of all ye Lands to his son Jon during his life, And then
after his decease to return to his Grand-child Phillip, and –
then from Child to Child, in case ye sd Phillip shou’d dye Issuless,
desiring his son John & his wife to give their consents here-
unto, & settle their part of ye Land upon their son in like=
manner. Lastly he constituted & appointed his son John Execr
of ye rest of his Goods moveable & immoveable whatsoever –

John ye Execr & his wife do give -- jurati their consent (before ye Archdeacn and
the two witnesses) that after their decease
their son Phillip shall have their part of Lands as mentioned in ye will;

Provided yt ye longer liver of them may have the whole Land.

John CLEATER died 3 July 1737 “Jon Cleater Senr at the Craig bury’d July 4th” Andreas parish register.
John Cleater married Joney CAINE who died 4 Jan.1736 “bury’d Jan ye 6th” Andreas.

[This Andreas parish register entry is followed by the burial of Cath Cleater als Kneal. Cath Cleater als Kneal, Jon Cleater, Jon’s wife Joney, and Philip’s wife Mary all died of smallpox 1736-1738. Joney Cleater died Feb.18 1739/40 of smallpox.]

Joney Cleater als Cain Arch will 50 Andreas 1736 [LDS 106216]
Extract: “… She left the limed ground which they wraught for half of the Cropp, her part thereof, to her loveing husband during their continuing time with him and whomsoever of the sd children would leave their said father that child shall be disposed & done with the land…
to her daughter Cathrine her rideing hood….
to her daughter Mary a red fleddin? petty coat and a blue apron
to Mary her daughter-in-law a petticoat… a quoiff & pinner
to her daughter Isable ten shillings legacy & a chest after her husbands decease…
to her son Steaven fourteen shillings as legacy…. to husband …
to her daughters Mary & Joney her shaped linen=cloathes equally betwixt them..
to her daughter Joney a pott & her shap’d clothes & her shoes…
to her daughter Isable a little wheel & to her daughter Joney a little wheel
Lastly she appointed her son John and her daughter Joney joint Equal execs..
& her part of the loom to her son Phill….”

John Cleater Epis will Andreas 1737 [LDS 106374]
Extract: “… To his son Stephen his part of the north land during the Term thereof together with this present cropp upon the sd land, and a heifer…
to his daughter Isable a furlett of meat=corn…
to his daughter Mary a blanket…
to his son Phillip and to John Curlett his son-in-law a piece of Rusett=cloth that was in the house…
to his son John his shaped=cloths..
to his daughter Joney the beak=stone the gridle and the woolen=wheel together with their own goods which being already named upon the sd John and Joney…
Son John & daughter Joney execs…”.

Their son Stephen Cleater died 14 Oct.1738 Epis will Andreas 1738 [LDS 106375]
Extract:
“…To his sister Catherine four shillings, and declar’d she owed himself three shillings…
to his sister Mary four shillings.
To his sister Joney four shillings and in case she makes any further or future demand upon his Execr she is to lose two shillings of the sd legacy as Edw Kneal one of the witnesses remembers…
And to his sister Isable three shillings.
He left a pair of shoes to Robt Crowe.
He declared that his sister Joney oweth him seven shillings, who also said his brother John knew thereof, and this the forsd Kneal witnessed also.
He declared that young Mr Garret owed him thirty-three shillings wages, whereof he acknowledged to be paid nine shillings and nine-pence..
He nominated and appointed his two brothers Philip and John Cleater execs..

Edw Kneal being dead, John Kewin the other witness has proved this will, to wch Joney the sister of the execr consents by surrendering her part with her husbands consent..
Charles Joughin & his wife have also surrendered their part.

Jo: Kewin & Jo: Corlet refusing to ---- of their part are sworn execs…
Pledges Charles Joughin & Jo Radcliffe ~
………for as much as there is some dispute…. will of Stephen Cleater late decd betwixt his brothrs and sisters yet surviving.. to avoid such trouble betwixt so near relations all parties hereunto subscribing have agreed as follows ~
Jon Corlet and his wife Cathrine and Jon Kewn and his wife Issable do hereby….surrender our right.. At Lezayre 21 Feb.1738.”

Children of John CLEATER & Joney CAIN:

Philip, the heir married 1729 Mary LACE who died 1738: her will “to eldest son John Cleater. Husband Philip Cleater... bought land…. inherited land... To her sisters Mary, Alice, Catherine & her two brothers Daniel and Thomas Lace... To her mother... Her little wheel to Bahy Joughin... Her two sons William and Philip execs”. Children underage. Pledges Jo Cleater, Danl Christian. William of age 1752; Philip of age 1758 [received legacies from father Philip Cleater].

Catherine married Jon CORLETT

Mary married 13 Nov.1722 Charles JOUGHIN [bapt. Dec.1701]. Mary wife of Cha: Joughin was buried Andreas 10 Apr.1756. See JOUGHIN.

Isable married Jon KEWN

John “ John Cleater son of John Junr a twin (the other twin died unbaptized) 6 Decr 1716”
Joney “Joney Cleater bury’d Feb 18th 1739/40” This Joney? [of smallpox, Andreas].
