Re: Elusive burial
In Response To: Re: Elusive burial ()

Thanks for checking that out Donna, tho' I have accounted for that one. There are so many Thomases (& Johns!) in this family. There are four baptised in Kirk Michael around the date in question, and I'm currently curious to find the burial for one who must have died before 1829:

The Thomas Corjeag who died in Ballaugh on Apr 20 1863 aged 77 and was buried in Kirk Michael [I 20] was Thos son of Richard Corjeage & Jane Dorey c. 31st July 1785 KM and married Margaret Killey in Jurby 1810. Will dated 1862: CAVENDISH, Thomas 1863 Bal A 59 0106265

John Corjeage & Bahee Cannell had two sons called Thomas:
c. Aug 19 1787 KM, buried July 1788 KM
c. July 26 1789 KM – the one I can’t find a burial for yet.
His father’s Will - CORJEAG, John 1837 Mic E 1 0106 437 (GL 751, 752) signed November 1829 – has a bequest to the children of “Thomas my son late deceased” [therefore, died before 1829]

Actually, I don’t know what happened to Thos. s/o Wm Corjeage & Margt Crellin c.21st Dec 1790 KM either! The family seem to be in Douglas at the time the father wrote his will: CAVENDISH, William 1811 Dgs A 19 0106238, signed March 1810, but doesn’t name any of the sons. I haven’t identified a marriage or death for him in the IOM, whereas I have wives & children in Kirk Michael for the other one.
