Thanks for looking into this for me. It would be great if Jony was John as it would be the link I have been looking for. Some time ago Francis looked at the Administration of Catherine (Norris) and William Ellison 1764 and completed a tree chart of their family. She listed both a John and Jony as being children of Sylvester Ellison and Dorothy Fairbrother ( as well as Jane, Dorothy, William and Richard) but at the time she thought a possible wife of John was Eliz Pedan. I was hoping it was Catherine Curghey who married a John Cannell in 1743. I find it very difficult to prove some of these old records are correct especially as I do not reside in the Isle of Man.
