mary and france thank you so much for answering my questions, they are really appreciated.
I have the inquest paper's into his death.
he died on sunday 8th of october 1939.
Reading the inquest paper i dont think he made it to the michaelmass fair. He was at his son's home all day untill 9.55pm. He(his son) lived at 15 head road.
At about 10.00 pm a person enteing his home at bridge street heard shouts of help. They ran across the bridge to a constable who was on duty. Together they searched south quay as this was the direction of the shouts.
another policeman joined in the search he went to the tonuge. This is where he was found. It was a wild night and a strong wind was blowing. I think the poor soul was blown over.
