Heather I have no family connection to the Braid family but often went shopping in the 40's & 50's at
R C Cains a small family owned "department " store in
Duke Street ,Douglas. We went to buy dress making materials & were always served efficiently & courteously
by a Mr Braid [ Mother always addressed him by name]
& so perhaps the family still lived in Dukes Road upper
Douglas as we also did?? Perhaps this is of some help.
