Thomas Handley did well in the pub business - you can track him from 1861 at the recently renamed Broadway (prev Castle Mona tap - pic on manxnotebook under inns) with roller skating rink through to the very posh Bowling green - he was also a major Freemason (as was his son) - not sure the roman catholic background of his wife + fa-i-law fitted that though.
