Hi Liz,

There were several men in Australia who looked liked fathers and sons named Francis/Francois Charles (or sometimes just Francis) De La Cour/Coeur/Caur or Delacour - a terrible name to find!

I thought the first one in Australia was Francois Charles DE LA COEUR, father Francois Charles DE LA COEUR, mother unknown, aged 87, died 1943, Vic. (So b.c.1856), but I have since found a passenger record for Francis DELACAUR aged 33 who arrived in Vic in August 1856, on the ship "Governor Morton' so b.c.1823. Travelling with him was John DELACAUR aged 30 so b.c.1826.

I'm posting these in the hope that someone else will be able to find in a census either Francis Charles b.c.1856 with father Francis, or Francis b.c.1823 with brother? John, because I'm drawing blanks. There were a lot of De La Cours in the Channel Islands, but also a lot in and around London.

Sue
