Manx Genealogy Archive 2

Family Records Centre closed

This might be stale news, but those looking for Manx relatives in England and Wales from 1837 might like to know that I called at the Family Records Centre in Myddleton Street, London, today, and found it had closed. The big indexes of BMDs have gone into store. They can be viewed on microfiche at the National Archive at Kew (formerly the Public Record Office), and four other centres. Certificates can be obtained online at www.gro.gov.uk; by post from GRO, PO Box 2, Southport, Merseyside PR8 2JD, or telephone +44 (0)845 603 7788. Census returns are at Kew.
